Day 8

I started out good. I was hurting pretty bad especially in the morning. Caleb prayed for me and I ended up feeling better afterwards. I stood most of the afternoon making soup and cutting up veggies and cleaning the kitchen. I definitely think sitting doesn't help.

Breakfast- oatmeal with flaxseed, bananas, blueberries, and soymilk.
Lunch- 1/2 whole wheat pita with a Bocca burger, tomato, lettuce, cheese and a couple white chocolate covered pretzels.
Dinner- The soup wasn't ready and mom brought home Bravi so I had spaghetti with a spicy marinara sauce. Not horrible but soup would have been healthier.
Dessert- I resisted the lure of the fudge and had berries with cool whip instead.

Exercise- I had music on and was moving around to the tunes a bit and did a little bit of the aerobics but I didn't want to over do and hurt myself again so I stopped and did arm weights and crunches.

Day 7

Over the weekend it was the Chocolate Affair and so I ended up eating more chocolate than I should have and some pizza. But Que Serra Serra, right?

Monday-
It wasn't too bad a day, though I hurt all over for most of it.
Breakfast- poached egg, toast with almond butter and honey
Lunch- spicy chicken veggie patty on whole wheat bread, low fat cheese, tomato and possibly a couple white chocolate covered pretzels but I can't really remember.
Dinner- salad with italian vinegar dressing and beans and salsa
Snack- 2 pieces of orange, slice of fudge

Didn't do so well avoiding the sweets but I didn't gorge on them either.
As I'm writing this, I am trying to overcome the temptation of more fudge and chocolate covered pretzels. I need to envision myself in a bikini......Sort of helping. I think I can resist but I'm having some fruit and cool whip!

Day 4

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning and I pretty much gimped around all day. There wasn't a "good time" at all today. I feel like an old grandma but other than that I feel great healthwise still.

Breakfast- Oatmeal w/ blueberries, bananas, soymilk, and a dab of honey
Lunch- Spicy chicken veggie patty on whole wheat bread w/ tomato, cheese, lettuce, peppers and some grapes on the side
Dinner- Beans, rice, tomato mixture that I made in the crockpot. It was pretty good and super easy! I had a lettuce salad with peppers, cucumber, cabbage, green onion, and parmasan cheese and an italian dressing. Super good.
Dessert- Smoothie with strawberries, yogurt, and mango.

Another pretty good eating day for me but I didn't get any exercising except for walking around doing some errands.

Day 3

I woke up with my hips hurting pretty bad but after stretching they got better around noon. I went on a walk around our greenbelt as well as doing some more stretching and dancing around the house to music! =)

Breakfast- poached egg, 1 piece of whole wheat toast, tangelo
Lunch- spicy chicken flavored veggie patty on 1/2 whole wheat pita w/ lettuce, tomato, low fat cheese and some veggies in vinegar
Dinner- tilapia, lettuce salad w/ cucumbers, peppers, and guacamole, red potato and fruit/yogurt smoothie for dessert

It was a pretty good day, but my hips got pretty bad by the end of the night. I feel great health wise though and I definitely have more energy. Yea for not being a couch potato anymore!

Day 3

I'm pretty proud of myself because I'm actually beating Heather at a post. Things become much easier for me when I make them into a competition.

Breakfast - oatmeal with peanut butter & brown sugar
Lunch - 1/2 cucumber, edamame, string cheese
Dinner - baked talapia, salad (w/avacado, cucumber & bell pepper), a red potatoe
Snack - smoothie: yogurt, pineapple, strawberry, mango, papaya

Bottom line: I'm doing well with the eating, but not so well with the blogging.

Day 2

I was pretty proud of myself today. Not only did I eat healthy but I exercised too.

Breakfast- multigrain cereal, strawberries, and soymilk
Snack- Tangelo
Lunch- beans in a whole wheat tortilla with tomatoes, lettuce, and salsa
Dinner- Veggie burger in 1/2 a pita with lettuce, tomato and some veggies with vinegar
Snack- a couple carrots, yogurt, and an apple

Exercise- stretched, did an aerobic dvd, and crunches.

My arthritis was much better after I stretched and went to the chiropractor. Hopefully it will stay that way! I felt great today and it makes me want to keep up with this!

Day 1

This is actually for yesterday.

Breakfast- strawberry, mango, yogurt smoothie

Lunch- Whole wheat turkey sandwich, veggies in vinegar, grapes

Dinner- pita with grilled chicken, tomato, pickles, red potato with little bit of Italian dressing.

Dessert- 3 dk chocolate kisses

Overall, it was a pretty great day. I stayed within the Richard Simmons "Blast off Week" calories and I felt really good about myself.

For exercise I used free weights for some arm exercises, leg lifts, crunches and walked a little bit. My arthritis was acting up pretty bad so I'm having to figure out ways to exercise around it.
